I spent how much streaming sports this year!?
From WikiImages on Pixabay, because I didn't have any good live sports photos that didn't have identifying information in them.

Let’s see.

$50 for NBA League Pass. $11 for the NFL Redzone package on Youtube TV. $150 for MLB.tv. At least $100 on wrestling PPVs, and $60 if we’re counting getting together with friends to watch the UFC PPVs.

Oh, and there’s all the subscriptions to things like Triller TV (because I like indy wrestling) and Peacock (because there’s nothing better than watching golf while I work on Thursday/Friday/Saturday mornings, though I have no clue what’s happening). Those aren’t expensive, but they add up. $5 times 12 is a lot of money! $8 times 12 is a lot of money!

Why am I spending this much? I don’t have this kind of money! That’s $527 total!

Good god, and that’s just live sports for the year. I won’t say I didn’t get my money’s worth. I don’t watch TV unless there’s a sport to watch, and any TV show I feel the need to watch is available easily elsewhere online.

But man, I could really use that $527 elsewhere. I could put it away for the future, or save it for a few months and by a bunch of PC parts to never put together because I’m lazy, or I could buy more video games.

For the sake of my mental health, I won’t list how much I spend on video games. It’ll send me into a doom spiral, though the old nerd trick of breaking down cost-per-hour on games saves me from feeling too miserable about it. 100 hours in Persona 3 Reload, 80 in Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth and a few dozen in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth have still cost me less than drinking during that period would’ve.

Yikes.

I need a beer.

Which is now… $8 for a sixer? Of Hamm’s?

I’m starting a doomsday cult. This is bullshit.
